KYT Americas Announces Generous Support Package for MotoAmerica Talent Cup Competitors

September 2024 – KYT Americas will officially partner with Krämer Motorcycles USA for the upcoming inaugural season of the MotoAmerica Talent Cup, to provide competitors with a support package that incentivizes and rewards those entering the new series.

All riders that purchase a new Krämer APX-350 MA for the series will be eligible for the following support package (upon signing a support agreement with KYT Americas):

1)     One free KYT racing helmet (model TBD)

2)     50% off all helmets and accessories during the 2025 Talent Cup season

3)     Free trackside support including tear-offs and helmet prep/cleaning

4)     One free KYT “track pack” (swag and accessories)

5)     Podium bonus eligibility (bonus details provided in support contract)

6)     Grand Prize eligibility (bonus details provided in support contract)

KYT Americas will offer the overall winner of the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup an official contract for support during the 2026 MotoAmerica season. Official contract will consist of a salary as well as a podium bonus program and full product support.

KYT, known for their world class helmets, is proud to have played a role in supporting youth racing in the USA and around the world. KYT is the official helmet of the FIM MiniGP World Series Finale and KYT was the official helmet of the now defunct North America Talent Cup.  KYT is also one of the leading supporters of young riders in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup which is being replaced by this new series.

“We wanted to find a unique way to support this new class and specifically reward the competitors. Offering a Grand Prize in the form of an official contract the following year is a great carrot for riders to chase, not to mention the support that they will get during the year. KYT Americas is racer owned and operated and we don’t shy away from supporting the sport that we love!” said KYT Racer Support Manager Brandon Cretu.

“Krämer Motorcycles USA is excited to count KYT as one of its technical partners in the new MotoAmerica Talent Cup,” said Jensen Beeler, CEO of Krämer Motorcycles USA. “KYT’s commitment to young racers cannot be overstated, and the total support package they are offering to Talent Cup racers is in direct alignment with the overall goal of this series, which is to develop and support fast and upcoming American road racers. We look forward to working with Brandon and the whole KYT team this season.”

Riders should stay tuned for announcements regarding applications for this program and other pertinent information.

American Honda, Progressive Join Forces in Multifaceted Agreement

September 6, 2024 — CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

Introducing Team Honda HRC Progressive

Sponsorship of Honda Demo Ride events and Rider Education Centers included

Today at the opening round of the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs, American Honda revealed an exciting new multidimensional collaboration with Progressive that includes title sponsorship of the factory race team. Starting with this weekend’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Team Honda HRC Progressive features Progressive branding on its race bikes and rider uniforms, with additional branding placements to come.

While the factory race-team title sponsorship is the headline news, that is only the beginning of this relationship. In the coming weeks and months, Honda fans and customers will see Progressive involved in an array of initiatives. Other examples are Progressive’s support of American Honda’s Demo Ride events and Rider Education Centers.

“We’re excited to finally kick off this unique new sponsorship,” said Brandon Wilson, American Honda Manager of Racing & Advertising. “What I think makes it most interesting is that it’s not just a traditional race-team sponsorship; it’s a broader agreement, with an intercompany, cross-departmental aspect. It’s fun to kick this collaboration off for the SMX Playoffs, but this is just the beginning.”

“Collaborating with Honda is a natural fit for Progressive as we both share a commitment to innovation, safety, and customer satisfaction,” said Eric Doubler, Recreational Lines Business Leader of Progressive. “Together, we can explore initiatives that enhance the driving experience and offer unparalleled value to our customers. We’re excited to embark on this journey.”

Flo4Law Racing’s Benjamin Smith To Debut Full-Spec Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike At Circuit of The Americas

Flo4Law Racing, which fields team principal Bobby Davies, along with teammate Benjamin Smith, in Stock 1000 and Superbike Cup, is upping its game for the team’s home race at Circuit of The Americas.

While Davies will race his Stock 1000-spec Yamaha YZF-R1 in Superbike Cup, Smith will make his Steel Commander Superbike debut at COTA on a full Superbike-spec Yamaha R1 built by Freddy Carswell and his crew at Superbike Unlimited.

A long-time technical partner with Westby Racing, Carswell has been anxious to get back into Superbike, and Flo4Law Racing came up with an opportunity that suits Carswell, Flo4Law’s founder Florencio “Flo” Moreno, and Smith.

Smith will run his usual number 78 at COTA, and the Yamaha’s livery will feature Flo4Law Racing graphics with a touch of Superbike Unlimited branding to signify the collaboration between Flo4Law and SBU. Photo courtesy of Superbike Unlimited.
Also, Smith had an opportunity to test the bike at Barber Motorsports Park, with Carswell and crew in attendance. Everyone at the test was encouraged by how well Smith performed, and also how well the bike suited Smith.

“We’re incredibly excited to commence this relationship with Ben Smith and Flo4Law Racing,” Carswell said. After Westby Racing’s unexpected departure, I felt a profound loss and a strong sense of ‘unfinished business’. Since then, we’ve been not so quietly tooling up a Yamaha race program at Superbike Unlimited with the blessing of Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA (YMUS) and with technical support from Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. (YME), but we hadn’t addressed a few key components; a rider and a partner with an equal passion and drive for success in this sport.

“I feel we’ve found a great match in Ben and Flo, and I’m looking forward to the synergy our team will bring to the paddock.

“I’d like to extend special thanks to YMUS, YME, Steve Korol of Evol Technology, Chuck Giacchetto of Giaccmoto Racing, and Richard Stanboli of Attack Performance for helping SBU get this thing going and also encouraging the process. We’re thrilled to arrive as Flo4Law Superbike Unlimited in Austin!”

Flo commented, “Ben Smith deserves to be on a Superbike, and we’re honored to be in a position to make that happen. We look forward to learning and growing with this opportunity, and we would like to thank Superbike Unlimited for their trust in our team. Much like how we run our Texas-based law firm, Flo4Law Racing wouldn’t throw our hat in the ring with the big teams if we didn’t think we were in a position to compete. Stay tuned, we’re just getting started.”

Smith added, “For the past 10 years of my professional career, the ultimate goal has been to be given a shot on a true Superbike. After an incredible first season with my Flo4Law Racing team thus far, I am more than honored and grateful to be granted this opportunity. We were able to complete a very positive test on the bike about a month ago, and I think it will bode well for us coming into COTA.

“This will be my first weekend on a Superbike of this caliber, and I can’t thank Freddy at SBU enough for entrusting me to showcase their machine. I have been working hard to make the most of the opportunity I have in front of me, so the goal will be to put on a show for the home Flo4Law crowd with a solid three races. I can’t wait for everyone to see this thing on track. We’ll see you all in Texas!.”

Smith and Davies will compete in three Steel Commander Superbike races at COTA, with one of the races scheduled for Saturday, and the other two races on Sunday.

MotoAmerica: Hart Racing to Sponsor Ryan Wolfe for the remainder of the Junior Cup Season

Hart Racing and Mechanicsville, MD racer Ryan Wolfe have partnered together for the final two rounds of the MotoAmerica Junior Cup series.

Ryan Wolfe, age 19, started the 2024 season strong with two second-place finishes at Road Atlanta. He hopes to make the most of these final two rounds and potentially close the points gap to the top three riders in the championship.

“I’m super thankful to be where I am right now,” says Wolfe. “I’ve never had an opportunity to represent a title sponsor this way. Hart Racing has always been in my corner since I first started racing in 2019. They have been so helpful, and I’m excited to finish out this Junior Cup season with their support.”

“Having Ryan on our team has been a blessing!  He brings so much joy to the team, and we are blessed to be able to support him in his endeavors for the remainder of the season,” said Philip Hart, Team Owner of Hart Racing.

Ryan first joined the MotoAmerica grid in 2023 racing a Suzuki SV650 in the Twins Cup class. His best finish was seventh place at New Jersey Motorsports Park against tough competition. Stepping down to Junior Cup for 2024 where all bikes are power-limited, Wolfe has faced even more competition, but on equal machinery.

“Being on a bike with pretty much the same power as the whole grid has made me more confident in my racing,” says Wolfe.

Wolfe has also secured additional support from Spears Racing, Ktech Suspension, Dunlop Tire, Bauce Racing, OneX USA, KYT helmets, and Forma boots for this 2024 season.

Round five of the MotoAmerica Junior Cup championship returns to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the first time in 10 years August 17th-18th.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 30, 2024) – Progressive American Flat Track, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing and in collaboration with Øuterkind, AFT Events and the City of Sturgis, has unveiled the track map for the highly anticipated Sturgis TT, which will take place in the streets of downtown Sturgis, South Dakota, on Sunday, August 11.

Measuring at just over a quarter of a mile, the combined dirt and asphalt course evokes the origins of the Grand National Championship while following the more recent precedent set by the DAYTONA TT and Atlanta Super TT, which incorporated paved sections of the tri-ovals at Daytona International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway alongside the more traditional dirt aspects.

The Sturgis TT is also unique unto itself, featuring a layout, backdrop, and vibe that simply could not be replicated anywhere else in the world. Set in the heart of downtown Sturgis during the 84th Annual City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the track starts and ends on Main Street right in front of the Harley-Davidson Rally Point, features lefthand turns onto 3rd and then Sherman, before hitting the dirt section that includes left- and right-handers plus a jump, before powering onto the legendary Harley-Davidson Way with its decisive final corner back onto Main Street.

This layout lives up to the event’s stated intent to honor the rich heritage and tradition of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Progressive American Flat Track while producing a modern-day spectacle that points to the future of both. That tantalizing prospect has garnered significant advance interest in the event, including a prime television slot on FOX on Saturday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET (11:00 a.m. PT), the series’ first to be aired on a major broadcast network.
