Is Quick Link Building Bad? Google says it doesn’t count links like that but…
Google was asked if link building too fast, let’s call it fast link building, was a bad thing. If you get too many links, too quickly, this is something that can count against you in Google search.
Google’s John Mueller said on Twitter “We don’t count links like that.”
The question was “is it possible to link too many times to a page so that it becomes a reason for the page not ranking?”
@JohnMu I’m asking because I read somewhere that if result #1 has 10 links, you can’t build more than 10 or you’ll come off as unrealistic.
Can you tell if there is any sense in overpromoting your page?
Btw, I understand if you can’t comment on it. Anyway, thank you!

John replied that it doesn’t work that way, but if you ask that question he would be concerned about how you build links. He said “in general, I would be cautious about ‘link building’ if it involves you doing the links yourself, as these would be considered unnatural and against our guidelines.”

That said, in general, I would be cautious about “link building” if it involves you doing the links yourself, as these would be considered unnatural and against our guidelines.
