A Message From Rick and Lora Breuer of Learning Curves Racing:

Learning Curves Racing (LCR) would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, racers, families, friends, and everyone who has recommended us over the years. Since 1989, LCR has conducted and hosted race licensing schools, clinics, and specialty classes at numerous racetracks nationwide.

We have been blessed to inspire new riders to be safe and fast on the track. It has been an honor to be a part of so many of the new racers’ journeys along the way and call many of them friends and family.

A special shoutout to all the excellent instructors and advocates over the years: Kevin Elliott (RIP), Dave Doe, Mark Erickson, Brian McLaughlin, Scott Zampach, Dean Hagemann (RIP), Todd Evans, Jason D’Amico, Doug Lincoln, Megan Ryan, Scotty Ryan, Aaron Stein and most recently, Kevin Van Engen, and Jon White. We could not have done this without you!

Rick Breuer.

Unfortunately, ASRA decided to take a different approach to licensing new racers. As a result, Learning Curves Racing has officially ceased operations on February 7th, 2025. It has been an incredible ride for the last 35 seasons. Thank you for trusting us to help you with your motorcycle training needs! We wish you all the best in the future.

Additionally, we are grateful to the new ASRA owners for allowing us to continue our respective roles for the past two years. Along with the above, we are parting ways with ASRA as part of this “different direction.” We will miss being an integral part of your racing journey. Lora and I have dedicated ourselves as Race Officials for the past 13 race seasons. I have served as Race Director, while Lora has held many positions, including Head Registrar for the Midwest Region and the Daytona events. Her most recent role was working the ASRA Help Desk.

Rick and Lora Breuer.

We have been fortunate to serve as Race Director and Head Registrar for the six Daytona 200 race weekends run by ASRA. This was a dream come true for me as a former racer. The Daytona 200 is an iconic race I have followed since purchasing my first street bike. I sincerely appreciate the late Kevin Elliott for making this opportunity possible.

The most significant recognition goes to the exceptional staff who have dedicated their time, weekends, families, and friends for years to ensure the safety and professionalism of the events for the racers. Their unwavering commitment is the foundation of the exceptional region we serve.

We extend our best wishes to all of you as you embark on the future.

FAST and SAFE!

Rick Breuer
Former ASRA Race Director and owner of Learning Curves Racing Ltd.

Varnes to Race for Karns Performance in the 2025 ASRA Series

Birdsboro, PA — January 7, 2025 — 13-year-old rising road racing star, Cole Varnes, is excited to announce his partnership with Karns Performance for the 2025 racing season. Varnes will compete aboard the CFMoto 450 in the highly competitive ASRA Series, marking a significant leap forward in his growing racing career.

Jason Karns, owner of Karns Performance, expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration: “We’ve been looking to keep our CFMoto 450 on the track, and when we saw Cole in action last year, we knew he was the perfect fit to continue the development of the CFMoto 450. His skill, focus, and maturity on the track left a lasting impression. We’re confident that with Cole at the helm, this bike will continue to shine. We’re excited to have him on board for the 2025 season.”

Varnes, coming off an impressive 2024 flat track season with a District 6 Flat Track Championship in the 250 Class and two class championships at Square Deal Raceway in New York, will now shift his primary focus to road racing in 2025. While dedicating himself to road racing, he will continue to race flat track on off weekends. His partnership with Karns Performance marks a pivotal step in his development, providing him the resources and support needed to hone his skills as he works toward his long-term goal of competing in the MotoAmerica series.

“I’m really excited to get back to road racing in 2025 and to be a part of the Karns Performance team!” said Varnes. “I spent a lot of time racing flat track last year with a few road races thrown in, but now I’m focused on road racing full-time. My goal for the season is to gain more experience on a variety of tracks, which will be key as I work toward the MotoAmerica series. The CFMoto 450 is already a proven winner, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”

This partnership marks a pivotal moment in Varnes’ career as he continues to build momentum in the road racing world. With the support of Karns Performance and the power of the CFMoto 450, Varnes is poised to make a strong impression in the upcoming season.

AMA Looks Back On Its Successful 100th Anniversary Year

Celebrates a century of AMA rights wins, historic racing accomplishments and camaraderie among riders this holiday season

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — With the holidays just around the corner and the new year to follow, the American Motorcyclist Association prepares to cap off its year-long celebration of its 100th anniversary — 1924-2024 — along with its substantial achievements of this year.

“For the past century, the American Motorcyclist Association has brought together hundreds of thousands of like-minded riders with a shared love of motorcycling,” AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman said. “As we celebrated our 100th anniversary in 2024, we reflected on our journey as one of the largest motorcycling membership organizations in the world and the impact the organization has had on the motorcycle industry and its enthusiasts. We take great pride in our mission to protect motorcycling and promote the motorcycle lifestyle, and we will continue to do so for the next 100 years!”

During its 100th anniversary in 2024, the AMA continued to champion the diverse and growing motorcycling community through its commitment to advocate for motorcyclists’ rights at the local, state and federal levels. For its efforts at the forefront of the fight to protect motorcyclists’ freedoms over the past 100 years, the organization received special recognition from its local government in Pickerington, Ohio, the state legislature of Ohio, and the United States Congress.

Throughout the year, the AMA also held a collection of centennial celebrations — bringing members and AMA staff together to observe the AMA’s wide-ranging accomplishments over the past century. The AMA recognized its 100th anniversary at its Spring and Fall Bike Nights, AMA Hall of Fame Days, and AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days — which enjoyed its most successful running to date. The AMA also contributed anniversary displays to several high-profile events, such as Daytona Bike Week, Americade, AMA Supercross races, and more.

With the impending turn of the new year, the AMA launches into its next century with the same passion and devotion for protecting motorcyclists’ interests as it has maintained since 1924.

The AMA is incredibly grateful to all the members who have helped the organization thrive over the past century, and wishes everyone a joyous holiday season, a Happy New Year, and another 100 years of the AMA!

About the American Motorcyclist Association

Founded in 1924, the AMA is a not-for-profit member-based association whose mission is to promote the motorcycle lifestyle and protect the future of motorcycling. As the world’s largest motorcycling rights and event sanctioning organization, the AMA advocates for riders’ interests at all levels of government and sanctions thousands of competition and recreational events every year. Besides offering members money-saving discounts on products and services, the AMA also publishes American Motorcyclist, a recently revitalized and monthly full-color magazine (and digital version of same) that covers current events and motorcycle history with brilliant photography and compelling writing. American Motorcyclist is also North America’s largest-circulation magazine. Through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Pickerington, Ohio, the AMA honors the heroes and heritage of motorcycling.
